akyra Chura Samui Has Its First Wedding

We recently celebrated the launch of akyra Chura Samui earlier this year, and it has had a fantastic first few months.

A beautiful 4 star property on the northern end of Chaweng beach, akyra is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax in the stunning surroundings of northern Samui.

And there is more to celebrate, as not only has akyra been doing incredibly well since the opening, it has also had its first wedding party!

Have a look through these lovely images of the beautiful beach setting, and the happy couple celebrating with friends and family.

If you could get married anywhere in the world, where would you go?

For more information on akyra or weddings abroad at any of our properties, please visit our Facebook page, or email rebecca@sandraleach.co.uk

Tamarind Village Release New Schedule of Cultural Activities

The beautiful boutique property Tamarind Village has recently released its new schedule of daily cultural activities, and they are offering some wonderful experiences poolside at the hotel and in the stunning city of Chiang Mai.

Tamarind Village takes its name from the 200 year old Tamarind tree which stands at the heart of the preperty, and is a real taste of Lanna culture. With just 42 rooms and three suites, this property is boutique, intimate, and a haven tucked away in northern Thailand.

You can choose from a range of activites, from the art of banana and lotus leaf folding to flower garland weaving to a wonderful village walk in Chiang Mai, ending with making an offering to the local monks.

This is a great way to really immerse yourself in the culture and heritage of Chaing Mai, whilst having a relaxing holiday at the same time.

For more information on Tamarind Village, including details on the new activities, please visit their website, or email rebecca@sandraleach.co.uk

Chalkie the Baby White Whale

Some lovely news from the Whitsundays to cheer everybody up! A baby white whale was spotted in September in the Whitsundays, and The Pacific Whale Foundaton has confirmed that he is a boy. After an extensive competition run by tourism Whitsundays and Whitsunday Escape, he has been named 'Chalkie'.

There were 743 entries, out of which an impressive 599 were unique ideas. the winning name came from Barry Brant from Strathdickie in the Whitsundays, whose suggestion of 'Chalkie' won not only because it reflected the white colour of the whale, but becase he was first spotted near Chalkie Beach.

Whale spotting is of course a popular pastime in the Whitsundays, as well as snorkelling, diving and whole host of other marine and land activities. Our very own Hamilton Island accomodates these and many many more, for more information visit their website, or for pure luxury why not stay a few nights in Qualia, a beautiful resort on the island that caters to your every need.
